So…need a sure fire way to make you feel like even though you’ve lost 20lbs you still have a L–O–N–G way to go? Go try on a couple swim suits.
I tried the whole online shopping thing and the suit that came in the mail this week was actually horrendous! I’m talking weird flowy grandma shorts and a tankini top with pretty much ZERO support for the girls. Long story short, it was not pretty. So I went to the store to return grandma’s saggy swim suit and decided to try on a couple suits in the store to save on postage and speed up this dreaded process. I managed to make it through 4 options before calling it quits (I know, low tolerance). It’s amazing to me how quickly you can go from feeling strong and empowered about yourself to slinking out of the fitting room contemplating how much further you have to go to reach your goal weight. Luckily I was able to turn my attitude around fairly quickly by turning to the fitblogger community. I can always count on ya’ll for empowering stories, quotations and pictures. Thanks guys! Anybody else having trouble swim suit shopping?
My whole reason for even going the swim suit shopping route is I am planning on taking a kayaking lesson at the end of the month! I know pretty exciting! BUT I figure I should have a swim suit under my clothes just in case I manage to tump over. Who wants to be wearing wet soggy underwear? Not me. So my search will continue. I’ll be sure to write a post once I’ve taking my first kayaking lesson! I’ve been wanting to learn how since I moved to Massachusetts and figured this was the summer to do it!
