Tomorrow I start Phase 2 of JM Body Revolution! Not gonna lie I’m pretty scared. Luckily Emily of Fit and Free with Emily recently posted her phase 2 results and a video of some of the moves from the phase 2 workouts. Not gonna lie, they made my eyes widen and my muscles tense in fear, but honestly they didn’t look as bad as my brain had built things up to be. Who knows how I’ll feel tomorrow once I’m actually doing the work, but I’m just gonna press forward!
Since starting the program I’ve managed to lose 10lbs! Yipee! I haven’t done my measurements yet, but hopefully that will happen tomorrow. When I weighed in yesterday I hadn’t lost any lbs, but maybe I’ve lost inches and gained muscle, here’s hopin’! Anyway, thought I would give my opinions on Phase 1 just in case anyone out there is interested/thinking about starting the program.
Weeks 1 & 2 were not bad, I found I could do the workouts without having that “I’m dying” feeling so that was a good way to start the program. The first two weeks are lower impact and got me focusing on good form and most importantly breathing! Seriously if Jillian wasn’t there reminding me to breathe I would spend a lot more time blue in the face, instead of red-faced and sweaty.
Weeks 3 & 4 ramped things up! She incorporated more “jump training” aka jumping jacks and the like. I found these two weeks harder but not so difficult that I was discouraged. For me the real killer was the “plank-up”, holy crap are those babies hard! We’re talking I was lucky if I was able to do 3! I’m not sure what Jillian would say, but I did as many as I could do and then held it in plank until the next exercise started. For me week 3 was hard, but I felt better week 4 when the exercises started getting a little more fluid and not quite as difficult…progress is progress.
So far I am really enjoying the program, I’m getting results, I LOVE that the workouts are all around 30 minutes, and Jillian is a good trainer. I don’t feel like she’s constantly shouting at me through the screen, she manages to add some fun in the workouts and I like that you can see a flicker of pain/struggle in the super fit crew behind her…solidarity! So those are just some of my thoughts on the program so far. I will be sure to post my measurements asap and maybe I’ll even do a vlog tomorrow when I make it through the first workout of phase 2!
